Special Anniversary Edition :)

I think most of you probably know how I feel about my husband. I make no qualms about sharing how absolutely wonderful he is every chance that I get. He's a ten. A knockout. If there were a contest for husband of the year, I'd enter him without hesitation. :) In other words, I love that guy. Eric...I L.O.V.E. you!

In honor of this special day, I thought I'd share a few wedding memories with you all. Most or all of these pictures have been published online in some capacity already, but these are a few of my favorites. Warning: This is sure to be a pic heavy post!

First things first, Eric and I have been blessed with an awesome family who went out of their way to assist us in having a great wedding on a budget. From the food, to the decorations, to the favors...they did it all! Here's a look "behind the scenes" of some of the hard work that went into making our wedding super special.

We had a "fall leaves" themed wedding, and we baked, decorated, tagged, and bagged about a bazillion leaf-shaped cookies for wedding favors.

We had an evening ceremony and reception, but the family was busy all day preparing food for all of our wedding guests!

When we're millionaires, I'm taking all of these people on vacation. You can hold me to that, guys. :)

Here's a look at parts of the hall during the day. It needed to be pretty, of course, but we also knew we had to fit a lot of people in there! I had grand schemes of how I wanted the tables arranged, but there was just about one way to squeeze everything in. We were still a tad short on seating, but we needed to leave some room for dancin'!

I wish I had taken pictures of every single thing that we did to prepare for this day, but I didn't. Let's just say everything from the wedding invitations to the programs were put together by me and a few awesome and willing friends. It was a busy summer leading up to the wedding, let me tell ya!

Because we had an evening wedding, and because we wanted outdoor pictures, Eric and I definitely saw each other before the ceremony. It didn't really bother me at all, and I'm glad we were able to get some outdoor shots!

Our entire wedding party, including candle lighters, ushers, and program attendants. Love them all!

And now... onto the main event! The lights were dimmed, the candles were lit, and the music began....

About the walk down the aisle. Eeee!!

My dad giving me away. The picture on the left cracks us up! Can you guess why? (Click to enlarge.)

Waited my whole life for this!

Exchanging the rings.

Lighting the unity candle

We're married! Yessss!

Ridiculously happy :)

It was a lovely, simple, very traditional ceremony from the vows to the music. We are very traditional people, if you can't tell, haha. The only mishap: Pretty sure at some point I was taking Eric to be my "wife" instead of my "husband." And in the confusion and laughter, I never actually got to say "I do." Whoopsy Daisy! I promise that "I do," Eric!

Our wedding carriage awaits!

The good 'ole family suburban, haha. Told you we were on a budget. And guess what? Still don't regret a single decision!

We had a fabulous reception with music, cake, and dancing...most of the usual stuff! We specifically requested lounge music and oldies, only. It was a good, clean, fun time. The only complaint we heard was that it needed to have lasted longer. :)

The Robert family story begins! We've already filled several pages with huge life events, and I'm sure there are many more to come. Happy 2nd Anniversary to my very best friend!

Oh, what the heck. Here are some bonus pictures, because it was just that much fun. :)

(Love you, Ruth! I'll always remember that face, hehe.)

Thanks again to everyone who made our day so wonderful!

Hey Adrien,

Happy Anniversary! I really enjoy reading your blog, even though we didn't hang out too much at Greenville (except when drinking Lite Worship in class! haha) I feel like we have quite a bit in common. In fact, we had the same wedding dress, I guess great minds think alike :)

Hi, Alanna! I totally remember Lite Worship, haha. I'm pretty sure there's still a picture of us floating around somewhere. :) I had no clue we had the same dress! That's awesome; I'm so going to have to check out your wedding pics. Didn't you love it?? Thanks for reading!

Thanks, Ashley! And congratulations to your parents. That's great!

Oh, Eric. I wouldn't change it, either. :) See, that's why we belong together. A couple of mushy gushy saps, that's what we are. *Love.*
