~We're Going Girly~

Eureka! I am inspired; inspired, I say! So many great bloggers out there are ridiculously creative, and I love that they're willing to share their ideas with the masses. I've been doing a lot of reading tonight...a lot, a lot... and with each click over to another awesome blog my heart began to race faster as a few ideas of my own started blossoming and blooming in my own mind.

Get ready, because after the holidays I am so going to be crafting you guys out like crazy. I've decided to challenge myself to completely transform my daughters' bedroom for under $100. That's right. $100.

And I think I can do it. I know I can do it. I'm so going to do it!

Oh, the ideas! Oh the itch I'm getting to start right now. But I can't. I cannot do it, because we have to get through parties and root canals and first shots and holidays. My plate is totally full. But come December 27 (because on the 26th I'll be SHOPPING) I will be in full-on girlified pink and sparkly DIY bedroom mode.

This dresser may see yet another transformation. Remember the Dresser Dress Up?

I still love the flowers, but those colors are going to have to change. And those white knobs - I have a few ideas up my sleeve to make them pop. Heck, this dresser is so cheap I may end up completely changing the whole thing without worrying too much about ruining it.

I'm inspired by Decor Chick's coffee filter wreath to make some really unique hangings for the girls' walls. They won't be wreaths, but they WILL be awesome. (Can you believe something so gorgeous is made from filter papers?)

I think Dittle Dattle's Christmas tree pillow is adorable, but I can't sew to save my life. For real...I nearly failed Home Ec in high school because I was out for two weeks with the chicken pox right in the middle of our sewing unit. Nice. ANYWAY, I won't be using a sewing machine to make new pillows, but I do have some ideas about how to transform some old ones for a fun little project that I know Evelyn will love.

And Life on Lyford's laundry room makeover has my mind reeling with possibilities! I can't wallpaper our rented walls, but I can certainly use wrapping paper for other purposes...man, I just can't wait. :)

I also have great plans in store for a mirror transformation, and if I can pull it off, I'm going to be dressing up Evelyn's bed and Grace's crib to be fit for a couple of pretty princesses. I sure hope you'll all stay tuned to see what I come up with!

But for now, it's all about the holidays. I have proven to myself by Christmas shopping on a tight budget that I can do just about anything I want without a lot of money as long as I have patience and a little bit of intention. And who knows, if I can impress Eric enough, maybe he'll let me do cheap re-do's to every room in the house. What do you say, honey? Eh? Eh?
