Thus is life...

I need one of these for Evie's bottom.

I had no intentions of blogging this morning, because we are supposed to be at a play date right now. I was hesitant to go in the first place, because I learned last night that the time was at 10:00am, and well...that's the worst possible time in the world for us at the moment, haha. That's exactly when Grace takes her morning nap each day. But I thought if I packed the girls up and we strolled over to the park that maybe...just maybe...Grace would fall asleep and get a little nap in while we walked.

Ten minutes before it was time to leave Evelyn came running into the kitchen with no pants or diaper on, and in this house that can only mean one thing: there was a poopy diaper hiding somewhere. Nice, huh? (If anyone has any tips on this one, please let me know! No matter what I do Evelyn does not seem to understand that it's not cool to take her own dirty diaper off.) That's when I realized Evelyn had come running out of her room, and I was pretty sure I heard Gracie jabbering away in their bedroom. Oh. No.

My worst fears were realized. Grace was happy as a clam digging in her sister's...stuff. So it was straight to the bathtub for both of my children, and I was fairly certain dreams of play dates were dashed at that point. If you've been reading this blog for any length of time then you know that Evelyn is randomly terrified of the bathtub right now, and after fighting a child to get her washed and going through the theatrics of big sister trying to rip little sister from the tub along with her...well...I knew that there would be no park for us.

Now here I sit with two squeaky clean, diaper-bottomed babies and a little bit of free time. :) I think we'll just stay this way until this evening. My brother-in-law and his wife are in from Arizona for a few days, and we're all going out to eat tonight. The goal is to keep the kids sticky-free until then. Think I can do it? I have my doubts. :)

So yes, that's what's happening in our world. I didn't have anything else prepared for the day, so that's all I'm squeezing out this morning.  Hope everyone who DID get to play has/had a great time!

Can you just have her wear something hard to get out of until she gets over the phase? Overalls? One piece jump suit? lol. I was told once that a mom used duct tape to keep her kids diapers on, but I thought she was joking. Maybe not? Good luck!

I've heard the duct tape thing, too. :D I've also heard putting the diaper on backwards so the tabs are harder to get to, but I always thought that would just be uncomfortable. (?) I'm getting to the point where I'll try anything. Crossing my fingers that Evie won't be in diapers soon, anyway. I just need to buckle down for a few days and get her trained for good!

I don't have ANY advice on the random diaper taking off episodes. We have that problem here too....

BUT!! The whole bathtub thing! Luke was TERRIFIED of the bathtub for almost a month. It was was absolute torture to bathe him. He would scream, broke my heart. I had NO idea why..just out of no where. I ended up buying some really cool bath toys. Some lit up, made music, bubbles. I put them all in the bathtub and then both him & I put our swimsuits on and pretended it was a pool. That worked!! So maybe it's worth a shot?!

MISSED YOU SOOO MUCH today!! But COMPLETELY understand, you poor girl lol.

Oh Evie...you are definitely giving your mommy a run for her money!!

We never had the diaper problem so I really don't have any advice for that one...

My parents would have to use tape on our diapers... but that was only because the tabs didn't work quite as well as they do today!! :)

Grace and my dog both apparently like diaper poo!! EEEWW!!
