Loving Life!

Well poop. That weekend went by way too fast! And seriously, I'm aware that it is no longer near Winter around here, and one day I WILL change my blog header. I just keep forgetting. I love you, blog, I really do.

Nothing like a juicy strawberry on a hot day. :)

We spent a lot of time as a whole family this weekend, which is totally necessary sometimes. While I love my Saturday night dates with Eric on most weekends, sometimes it's fun to bring the kids along, too! So we Cinco de Mayo'd it up with some monster burritos and quesadillas at the mall, where I was reminded of exactly why we try our best to avoid eating out with our darling Gracie girl. :)

After wrestling a toddler and stuffing my face as fast as possible to get the heck out of dodge, we took the girls for a little stroll. They absolutely LOVE the mall. The sights, the sounds, the people. I adore this age...they are perfectly happy to sit and watch without any pressure to buy a single thing. Haha. I'm aware that with girls in my life this will be a very short season for us.... On our way home we decide to stop at Walmart to pick up a few necessities. As we rounded a corner I heard Eric cracking up.

"Is that thing supposed to be on your butt?"

Say what? I turned around, and plastered to my backside was a giant piece of tortilla. I must've squished that thing on there good, cause it wasn't going anywhere anytime soon. And that's when I realized that I spent the entire evening mall-walking with part of my dinner tagging along behind me. Wonderful. Pregnant and tortilla-bottomed. I'm a mess!

When we stepped out of church the next morning I was seriously floored by how HOT it was outside. It ended up being the perfect day to do a little "ghetto camping." - My mother's words, not mine. :)

My parents grilled beneath the awning of their camper, where we pulled up folding chairs and a picnic table and pretended to be far away somewhere. The kids had a blast!

If there is one thing I look forward to most when the weather warms up it's having a good old fashioned barbecue with my parents. It just epitomizes summertime, and boy did it feel like summertime! My children were sufficiently dirty and tired at the end of the day - as it should be. ;)

I even managed to remember to ask Eric to take a belly shot of me, but the dress I was wearing made it kind of heart to truly appreciate my new girth.

I feel like I'm more wide than anything at this point, which a side shot can't really appreciate. Maybe you can see it better in this one:

At any rate, I'm only 16 weeks pregnant and I'm about 18 pounds heavier than I was when this whole thing started. 18 pounds in 16 weeks. Not fair.

I'm not exaggerating when I say that I could feel the air conditioner in the car rippling the new fat on my face. Eric finds this hilarious. And I wasn't lying when I say I gain a TON of weight when I'm pregnant. When all of my girlfriends get together and discuss the woes of the "Twenty-five pounds I gained!" I don't say a word. I'm 5'2" and I easily gain 40-45 pounds with each pregnancy. Easy.

Praise the Lord for beast feeding. I would be in BIG trouble without it. :)

So that was our weekend. Sun. Barbecue. Tortilla butts. Just another day in paradise.
