Liebster Blog Madness

Eric had a dinner last night and didn't get home until just before bedtime. So of course the girls were in top form using him as a human jungle gym and getting in their daddy time while they could. While they were wrestling in the living room, Eric was telling me how his night went, and then Evie stopped everything when she realized where her dad had been all night. The room grew quiet, and she said incredulously:

"You were at a restaurant... eating hot wings... while I was at home??"

Eric and I looked at each other and started cracking UP, and I said, "Evelyn, you are too funny!"

To which she replied, "No, that is sad!" :) Ah, I wish three year old voices could be transferred through typed words, because hearing that come out of our little Minnie Mouse was hi-LAR-i-ous.

Then Grace body slammed her father, and our night carried on as usual.

So yesterday I was given this award from the Independent Spinster herself!

And when I sat down to type this post, I realized that I'm pretty sure I've done this before, haha. The name just sounded so familiar, and then when I started blogging it felt like deja vu. But that's okay, we'll do it again! This is an award meant to honor bloggers with 200 or less followers. You know, us little guys and gals out there just blogging for fun or just getting started!

The challenge is to share 11 facts about yourself and then answer 11 questions posted by the person who nominated you. Then you have to come with 11 new questions and nominate some friends to do the challenge. That's a lot of stuff!! We'll see how good I do. :)

So...11 facts about ME:

*Yesterday I shared that I was afraid of horses when I was little...the truth is...they still kind of give me the heebs up close. I think they are GORGEOUS animals, but they are big, and I prefer a nice stable wall between me and them. :)

*No one ever believes me on this...but I'm actually not a little kid person. I'm a big kid person...like, school aged kids. I think preschoolers are adorable, but there's a reason that I was going to get my degree to teach high school and junior high students and not the younger ones.

*I'm probably the only twenty-something on the planet looking forward to my 30's.

*I cry all the time. Happy tears, sad tears, I-dont-know-why-i'm-crying tears....it's a family curse.

*I hate driving. I'll do it, but I hate it.

*I live my life with my head held high because of this bible passage: "If the world hates you, keep in mind that it hated me first. If you belonged to the world, it would love you as it's own. As it is, you do not belong to this world, but I have chosen you out of the world. That is why the world hates you." In other words, I don't give a flip when I get attacked for my beliefs, because it only means I must be doing something right.

*I am a nocturnal being.

*I can't eat eggs when I'm pregnant. Doesn't matter if I'm in the throws of morning sickness or not - they make me toss my cookies.

*I would much rather eat at a family restaurant than a fancy restaraunt - even when it's just Eric and me.

*I have never ever traveled outside of the country, and there's so much of this country that I haven't seen that it doesn't really make me all that sad.

*I think I have successfully mastered turning shopping for kids clothing into a legitimate, full-fledged hobby. And I could probably create a part time job out of it if I wanted/needed to. Even I realize this sounds weird, but it's so much fun!

Answers to Heather's questions:

1. If you could spend the rest of your life in the city of your choice, where would it be?

Eric and I would love if we could pick up our entire family and transplant them to Franklin, TN. Pretty sure you have to be a millionaire for that, haha.

2. Christmas is apparently right around the corner...what's the first thing on your list?

I honestly don't even know. I don't have a wish list for myself, and I'll stress out until the kids are done. And yes, I've definitely started thinking about them! :)

3. What is your favorite thing about yourself?

Well, I am incredibly thankful for the faith that I have. I'm not a legalistic Christian, and I'm not easily offended. I know what I know, so it doesn't bother me personally when someone disagrees with me. It has saved me a lot of grief and hurt feelings.

4. Have you ever accomplished a pin from Pinterest?

Nope. I never could get into Pinterest. My ideas are from my own noggin and occasionally I google things but don't pin them.

5. Were you named after anyone?

Haha. Hahaha. My name came from the Rocky movies. The End.

6. Why did you start your blog?

I started my blog after doing a study on the Proverbs 31 woman. I wanted it to be a place to share everything from being a mom to recipes and home decorating tips. It has now become a place to store memories for my children. I only had one child at the time, and motherhood has become all-consuming since then!

7. You are on a deserted island...what 3 things could you not live without?

My family, a pilot, and a helicopter. Baha.

8. Do you think having people pay you to guest post on your blog is a good or bad thing?

It doesn't bother me one bit. I WISH someone would guest post here once in a while. They wouldn't even have to pay me. Haha.

9. Are you a dog or a cat person?

Definitely a dog person, but I'm not really a pet person at the moment. I have enough messes to clean!

10. The opening ceremony for the Olympics cost $42 million dollars.  Do you think that's acceptable?

I think governments waste a lot of money on ridiculous things that would make most people sick if they knew about it. So actually spending money on something that brings people all around the world together doesn't bother me.

11. What is your dream job?

Novelist. I dream of the day all of my children are in school!

I've decided to ask questions that I enjoy discussing with people in real life. I love to get new ideas and hear people's opinions on these things!

1. What is your favorite drugstore beauty product?
2. What is your least favorite household chore?
3. Do you believe in ghosts?
4. Is it okay for the girl to propose to the guy?
5. Would you rather have no children or ten children?
6. What is the best gift you ever received?
7. Do you floss? Don't lie! :)
8. Do you think you would like to be famous?
9. What was your WORST job?
10. Would you be embarrassed or proud if your old school report cards were published for the world to see?
11. If you decided to run for public office, is there anything from your past you would be afraid of rehashing or explaining? (You don't have to share WHAT, but is there anything?)

And I've decided to nominate bloggers that I haven't heard from in a while! I miss you guys, and my blog roll has been lonely lately. If you happen to see this and decide you want to join in on the fun, let me know! If I don't nominate you or if you don't have a blog, I would still LOVE to hear your answers in the comments!!

Andrea at andrea Mingles
Stefanie at Extraordinarily Ordinar
Melissa at Sweet Cheek Life
Meagan at The Pflueger Way

Come back, girls!!!!

And that is the end of a blog post that took a ridiculous amount of time to complete, haha. If you don't want to pass along the award but would still answer the questions on your blog that would be a great way to get started again - hint, hint...wink wink. :D

Just stumbled across your blog!

I am the same way with driving... I hhhhate it! But, mainly because I get lost EVERYWHERE I GO! (No matter how many times I have been there!)

I haven't travelled much around the US either (I keep saying I will, but that day still hasn't come yet, boo!)

I absolutely love what you would bring if you were stranded on an island.. A pilot and helicopter is awesome (good thinking!)

I feel the same way about guest posts!

Haha, that's why I hate driving, too!! I have no sense of direction whatsoever, and I would FLIP out if I got lost by myself!

Glad you stumbled on us! :D
