New Adventures - But not for me!

We're going on day three of being stranded at home without a car. Eric's trusty old Buick has been in the shop. I know most people would have sold the darn thing by now, but that's just not how we roll. We can pay a little to get things fixed now, or shell out a lot for another car. Since we have babies coming and master's degrees to pay for and 2 bachelors degrees that won't go away, we vote for repairs. :) But...that means in order to get anywhere the girls and I have to go a strollin'. To sum up this story, we've been chilling out around the house A LOT. Nothing new and exciting happening around these parts, that's for sure.

But we do know some people who are embarking on new adventures, and I'm sure they would really appreciate your thoughts and prayers!

My brother and sister in law are currently en-route to China, where they will spend a year teaching English.

I had to swipe some pictures from Facebook. :) Denny and April are the newlyweds in the middle!

I know that a lot of things are still up in the air for them, and they won't really know much about how their experience will pan out until they actually get there. I'm sure this will be a big learning experience for them, as well!

Eric was able to visit with his brother and April for a little bit yesterday before they left for the airport.

That's Eric's mommy, not April. Haha.

You can follow along with Denny and April on their respective blogs. Read Denny's point of view here, and April's here. :)

We are certainly praying for their safety, for new friendships, opportunities to share Love, and wonderful experiences. Godspeed!

Gracie is currently crying because she ate the last of the grapes and I can't make more appear from thin air. And now Evelyn is begging me to take her to Dollar General. (??) Only I can't. Because I don't have a car, and I am not pushing their little hineys all the way to the dollar store, haha. Oh my life. Eric has class tonight, so it's going to be a loooong day.

I think I can make it to my parent's house on foot. I think I can, I think I can....

So would you ever consider spending a year in a non-English speaking country? I have to be honest, it would be REALLY difficult for me. We have friends currently serving in the Czech-Republic, and I know getting over the language barrier is a huge step. But man, the food...that would be a toughie for me, too! :)

Hope you all have a great day. Think of me when you drive your cars. Haha.

I think it would be cool to go and experience it. I love a challenge! Good luck with no car. I would be lost if I was car less and going nuts with the kids. Lol!

Thanks Adrien for the post and prayers. Yes it's been two days in a foreign city and the language barrier is tough. The process is a bit overwhelming at times but the other parts of the culture is an exciting part of the adventure. April R.
