Looking Back: Days at the Farm

Our house was a happy buzz this morning. Baha. I don't talk a lot of politics around here, but the Presidential race had a bit of a kick off last night, so of course the hubs is in full on "nerd alert!" mode. It's cute. :)

What do I think of the debates? I think I LOVE that watching all of the post-debate talk makes Eric stay up way later than he usually would, so I have a partner in crime while I stay up working on projects. I kind of forgot what it's like to have a friend to stay up with that's over two feet tall.. Kind of like a married slumber party. Can we have a presidential debate every night?

So our extra storage space for the computer was delivered yesterday. Yipee! Now to just get Eric to install it. We have a busy weekend coming up, and we'll be gone most of this evening as well at my doctor's appointment. Two weeks until Reagan! Three at the most. I have been so busy this week trying to gather things for Grace's second birthday that I haven't had a lot of time to get baby stuff together. I just have to get past Sunday, and then I can focus on preparing our house for a newborn. (I am NOT looking forward to scooping the girls out of a baby swing every five minutes. For real. It's my biggest dread. Haha.)

We're going to be partying at our favorite family spot this weekend - killing two birds with one stone, if you will. We're combining Grace's birthday with one of our favorite family traditions. We're sharing our annual trip to Eckert's Farm with several of our family members. Should be special times. And since I can't upload new photos, I'll just put up a few from all of our year's past. It's fun to look back and see how our family has grown over the years!

We started our tradition before we had babies of our own. We stayed plenty busy being kids ourselves. College kids, that is. :)

We were SO excited for Evie's very first trip to Eckert's. She was just 3-4 months old.
Fall 2009

We went out to the fields for the first time with Evelyn on her second trip. I was VERY pregnant with Grace here. History repeats itself. :)
Fall 2010

And last year we chose a very blustery day for our trip. It's CRAZY that from one year to the next we went from me being pregnant to having two kids that size! Grace was already a year old!
Fall 2011

Ah, memories! What will this year bring?

Our girls are a little sniffly with all of the weather changes, and this Sunday they are predicting a high of 55 degrees. Brrr! I sure hope we're all well enough to enjoy our day! Unlike last year, we can't put our trip off. There's these things called "reservations" and "deposits" holding us to a certain date. Haha. I hope we're able to make some great memories at the farm while we celebrate our beautiful baby's special day. Can't wait to share it with all of you, too!

Now I'm going to go snuggle my sniffly girls. Hopefully we'll have some baby progress to share with you tomorrow. Fingers crossed that these crazy contractions I've been having have done something to move things along! Have a great day. :)

I cut my hair like that every couple of years or so, but I always end up missing it long and grow it right back out again! Haha.
