Thank You, Thank You

Do you know what could possibly be worse than boob-itus? (The affectionate term I've given to the series of unfortunate pains I've endured for nearly a week now.) Heartburn. Heartburn that is caused by the medicine prescribed to cure boob-itus. It's debilitating, and it keeps me up at night. And it's not going to go away until all of those pills in that fat bottle on my kitchen counter are gone. Antibiotics are such a necessary evil sometimes. Eating can be pretty awful right now. And do you know what that means? Happy Thanksgiving to me! Haha.

I need to save myself from a royal pity party. I haven't let myself go there just yet, so to stay out of more misery, I need a day to take my mind off of how I feel and focus on the blessings of what I have been given. So what are the true blessings in my life? Let me think...I'll start with the easy ones first.

*Evelyn, Grace, and Reagan. I know more than anything that each of my babies were gifts, because they were all little surprises. :) I am especially thankful for their health. Each time I give birth to a healthy baby I thank God for such a blessing and say a little prayer for the mamas I know who have children with special needs. How many times can one person get so lucky? I'm three for three.

*Eric, of course! I am very thankful for a supportive partner, and the longer we are together the more I realize what a blessing it really is. I'm sure there are days that I drive him crazy, but he rarely shows it. He is an encourager, a provider, a leader, a confidant, and my best friend.

*Family. I am so thankful to be surrounded by family, on both sides. Our parents step in to help us all the time, and I have no idea what we would do without them. Sometimes they show up when we need help even when we didn't ask them - it's almost as if they have us on radar, haha. Just this weekend while I was sick Eric's mom and my mom showed up on different days and took the girls to give me a break and get them out of the house. And we are so lucky to have lots of family to celebrate the holidays with. :)

And now for the less obvious....

*I'm thankful for electricity...which we didn't have this morning. That's kind of a pain with three kids to feed and entertain!

*I'm thankful for people who are way smarter than me. Like farmers, people who make clothes, build homes, manage power plants, make medicine...man, I think I'm just a leach on society. Thank the Lord for a world full of many talents.

*I'm thankful for frozen pizza - a weekly life saver around here. Hold the onions. :)

*I'm thankful for indoor plumbing, because...why not?

*I'm thankful for laughter, which keeps me going every day. My kids are currently running around the house on broomsticks. And they're pretty stinkin hilarious. :)

Evie says:

* "I'm thankful for 'dis.'" - Holding up a straw from her broom.

* "I'm thankful for roses, daisies, lettuce, and carrots."

And when asked, Gracie says she is thankful for "mmm mmm" which I'm pretty sure means food. That would be very accurate coming from her. :)

I think that I speak for our entire family when I say the one thing we are MOST thankful for is more powerful than electricity, more life saving than pizza, and even more awesome than indoor plumbing. Haha. His name is Jesus, and he's who keeps our whole family together. As we get ready to enter into this holiday season, we are most thankful for the gift of a son, and the hope that he brings to the world.

Ah...feeling much better about life right about now. My heart is warm...and it's not even cause it burns. ;) I'm thankful for blogging and for all of the friends it has brought my way. Thank you for reading and sharing our lives. Love!!

If your babies didn't have different blankets in each picture, I would have thought they were the same kid. Seriously!

And that yawning picture. made me yawn, and smile! :)
