To the Perfect Parents

I can't do a legit blog post today, because iPhoto is "repairing" itself (or something like that) which means...no pictures. Blast.

But I do have something to say. I've said it before. It's something that I, at one time, assumed everyone could figure out for themselves, but then someone always comes along and proves me wrong. It's the whole, "Everyone is a perfect parent until they are one" thing. You know what I'm talking about. I just smile and think..."You'll see. Oh yes. You'll get yours, too. Someday." :)

No, I'm not being snarky. I'm just setting you up for my next point so you don't think I'm a horrible parent or something. Cause yes, I used to be in the "I have one well-behaved child, so I must know what I'm doing" camp, too. Yep. Until you start having multiples and realize that every kid can be so vastly different that you find yourself saying and doing things you thought you never would before.

Which brings me to Gracie. That kid is in a class all her own. I call her strong-willed, because by definition she definitely IS, but it's really more than that. She's really a word I cannot say on this blog, cause I swore I'd never say naughty things here. But it rhymes with "fart pass." Use your imagination. She really has a twisted sense of humor. :)

I did something to tick off my kid this morning. I don't even know what. But I was sitting on the couch, minding my own business, when she comes up to me and blows a raspberry right in my face.

I am unscathed. And totally monotone (and half asleep) I say:

"Stop it, Gracie."

Raspberry.

"I said Stop."

Raspberry.

"Stop."

Raspberry.

"I'm going to cut your tongue off."

"HAHAHA, Mommy!" And she ran away, satisfied.

And this is where the parenting police wag their fingers and say, "Why didn't you punish her the first time?"

To which I say, scroll up to the top, and start reading again.

Have a nice day. :)

Oh, Gracie. This story pretty much describes her perfectly. But you have to add that two hours later she comes up and gives you the biggest, loudest kiss every.

"MMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMMUAH!"

I think about this almost everyday! Except I think mine are opposites so far- first born strong willed. Lucy is crazy! And Leanne so far is super laid back. Oh the joys if parenting!
