Mother's Day Weekend

Good morning! (Or afternoon...or evening...whenever you end up reading this!) It's Monday, and I don't even care, because we're getting a couple of really nice weather days. :) It's kind of ridiculous how much our lives are ruled by the weather anymore. This Spring has been WEIRD. (Dear Lord, I would really like to change the kids' closets over, but I'm still trying to shove them into winter clothes every other day. Can we pleeeease just have warmer weather? You're the best. Amen.)

Our weekend was fantastic! I honestly cannot even remember Friday night. I'm pretty sure Eric came home from work, we ate dinner, and went for a nice walk. That's what I'm putting my bets on, but I could be lying to you.

We started honoring one of our mothers a little early by taking her along on our date night on Saturday. :) Well, if you consider a trip to Sam's Club a date night. Haha. My mama came along, because she had a few things to pick up for a special girl's graduation party next weekend. I can't believe my little sister is graduating from high school! Yikes!

Speaking of my little sister, this weekend was also our tiny town's prom, and Shannon decided at the last minute that she wanted to go. I think she and her date looked rather spiffy, myself. :)

Totally swiped this from facebook, and I don't know if I'm allowed to do that, but I did it anyway.

My Mother's Day could not have been better. It started with Reagan, who woke up and wanted to snuggle with his mama...then Gracie came stumbling in and crawled into bed with me...not long after that, I heard Evie squeak and the pitter patter of her feet came running, and before I knew it, I was surrounded by all of my children. What a special way to begin the day!

Soon Eric was coming in and telling me to go get my present. Haha, I'm pretty sure at the sound of "present" the girls jumped up and beat me out to see it. It was in a huge box, so it wasn't wrapped and the girls gasped when they saw it. I didn't get a picture, but it was something I specifically asked for, and I was tickled pink! Ya'll are gonna laugh at me, but I don't care. Eric and I enjoy practical gifts. I had mentioned wanting a really nice glass drink dispenser.

Yes. That's what I wanted. And it's going to look so sweet at all of our parties! :)

Eric made breakfast, and we had a great morning before going to church, where I received some super cute handprint magnets from the girls. (Thank you Ms. Teresa!) And then we went to Grandma and Grandpa Robert's for a yummy lunch!

I wanted nothing more than to get a rare picture with me and all of my kiddos yesterday. That was a great gift, indeed. :)

Then we changed our clothes and spent the rest of the day taking a walk and visiting with my mama. We grabbed my mom and John and forced them to come to the playground with us. Okay, so we didn't have to twist their arms or anything....haha. We had so much fun! After dinner we went back to my parent's house for some delicious strawberry shortcakes and more visiting.

I TOTALLY get the moms who want to have a day of pampering to themselves on Mother's Day. There are a lot of things about that which sound appealing to me! But having the day with Eric and the kids and the rest of the family was just priceless. It was a really great day, surrounded by the reasons why I do what I do. Motherhood is such a precious gift!

This week is the third and final round of Eric's business school competition. We wish him luck! I'm still trying to coerce him into taking a random day off of work this month so that we can have a fun family day. We'll see if it happens. :)  Hope you all have a great day!

I want one of those drink dispensers too! I think they just look so pretty with fresh fruit floating around in them.
