National Sugar Cookie Day

Hear ye, hear ye! Let it be known throughout the land that Adrien Robert blogged five days in a row! That's quite an accomplishment for me since adding a third baby to the bunch. :)

I'm super HAPPY today for many reasons, but mostly because 1) I don't have to cook tonight, and 2) I'll soon be stuffing my face with hot dogs, nachos, sno-cones, and popcorn at Family Night. Haha. We're really excited!! It would make my day to see you there. :)

Well, did you know that one day this week it was National Sugar Cookie Day?? I didn't either, but our resident elf Moe and my parent's elf Buddy made sure to remind us. I got a message from my mom asking if we could come over, because she was "cooking" something up. So hi-ho, hi-ho it's off to Grandma's we go!

We were celebrating with some cookie baking of our own! We followed a super special recipe straight from the North Pole, and the kids had coloring pages to work on while the cookies baked. We even turned on some Christmas tunes. It was Christmas in July!

Reagan hung out with the dogs while we baked. Haha.

I'm only including this picture, because Reagan looks JUST like his Grandpa Greg in it. I mean, scary resemblance.

Am I right, Roberts?? It's those lips!

Anyway, what child doesn't like to pour and mix and stir? There's just something about cooking that kids love - perfect afternoon activity! We rolled the cookies into balls and popped them in the oven while the kids took their intermission.

It wouldn't be right if we didn't decorate them a bit!

Sometimes making memories doesn't mean taking an entire day to do something or planning some great big elaborate thing. Sometimes it's just bakin' some cookies. Gracie looked at this picture and said, "Hey, we maked cookies at Gwandma's house!" She was tickled pink about it - mission accomplished!

Have an awesome day - eat a cookie! :)

I got my hair done last night and there was Christmas music that came on the radio. Took everyone a minute to realize what it was.
