Weekend Wrap Up!

Happy Monday. I'm pooped.

If you hadn't heard, last Friday was National Ice Cream Sandwich Day. All capitalized, there, cause it's totally official. It's okay if you were in the dark, because so was I. But my mom wasn't. It shouldn't have surprised me when I got a facebook message from her saying we had to come over because she was baking cookies the size of Gracie's head for our own ice cream sandwiches.

Facebook is a dangerous place for my mom, cause all of those random things you see posted there...she does them! Haha. (I love it!) We had fun on Friday afternoon assembling ice cream sandwiches and playing. Then that evening our family had to make a beeline to Target to check out the toy clearance.

I think I'm missing a couple of things, but I was too lazy to take another picture.

We didn't do too badly this year! There were definitely a few things I was tempted by but passed up, simply because I'm currently trying to GET RID of stuff. But nothing we bought was more than $5 and some change. The annual toy clearance is a great way to get a head start on some inexpensive Christmas gifts. Check your local Target to see if there is anything good! ;)

On Saturday I got to feel like a woman again. Haha. Eric and I went to the wedding of one of his co-workers and best friends at work, and it was a lot of fun. Probably the best part of the day for me was fitting into a dress I can only wiggle myself in when I haven't been pregnant for a while. In other words...not often. That poor dress hasn't had a lot of mileage in the past few years. :D

I gotta tell you...it is so true when they tell you that after a few babies you may get your weight down to the place it was before, but your body just is not the same. For me, I was shocked to find that it wasn't my hips nor any of the other super obvious places that changed. But shoving myself into that dress felt like wearing a corset around my RIBS. My kids stretched my dang rib cage out. Who knew that was even possible? Anyway, we had a really great time. Congratulations to Kathy and Tom!

Sunday was church, lunch with Eric's parents, getting things done around the house, and then a grilled steak dinner at my parent's house. Mmm...love Sundays, haha. We ended our weekend by enjoying this freakishly cool August weather on a walk. When we came home we discovered we'd had a little visitor.

The "great pumpkin" left a yummy treat on our doorstep!

Peanuts and candy corn...a tasty snack! I think by now most people have tried this, but if you haven't, it tastes just like a Payday candy bar. Poor Reagan was very upset that he couldn't enjoy this treat. He was after the jar this morning, haha. Sorry, dude. No peanuts for you! (Thanks for the fun surprise, mom!)

I am waist deep in yard sale prep, and I am STILL not over this concussion stuff. I'm super tired, get headaches easily, and dizzy spells are totally normal. Dr. Google tells me this could last for MONTHS or YEARS. Bah! So I am generally moving a lot slower than I'm used to. It sucks.

My house is a mess and Evelyn decided to cover her legs in pen drawings this morning, so it's a great Monday so far. Is it nap time yet? I need one! Baha. I hope all of our friends have a great week!

Haha, yes...I used to think I'd get a break when kids started filing off to school. Now I realize 2 1/2 hours, five days a week is just enough to be a big pain in the rear! :)
