Weekend Wrap Up!

I woke up this morning and could not think for the life of me what day it was. Kind of a sad pit in my stomach when my brain un-fogs and I realize that it's Monday. I'd much rather think about the weekend. :)

Friday was a very typical day. We had our usual Friday night dinner at Eric's parents house where the kids played and had fun all evening. Always an early night for us, because Eric wakes up super early in the morning to make it to his Saturday job.

And on Saturday we had our usual date night. Except there was one little detour....

I mentioned a while ago that I really want to start a weekly vlog to document our comings and goings. I have had really great feedback from that ever since! The only problem is that I need a good point-and-shoot in order to film things. So Eric made me a little deal. If we could finally part with our first Canon DSLR, we could take some of the money from that to purchase a new camera for filming. Deal!

Eric put our camera up for sale on multiple sites, including Facebook, and it sold in like, five minutes. :) Wahoo! Of course we had already been researching which camera we would like to get in it's place, so on Saturday we made a trip to Best Buy just to see the cameras in person. We never buy brand new cameras. Kind of like cars. Let someone else take that first hit in the price, haha.

It was obvious to me what our camera choice would be. And there was very recently a new model released of the camera we want. Music to our ears. We knew that soon the price of the camera we really wanted (Canon G15) would drop. So while we were at the store Eric asked if they possibly had any 15's still around. You know, maybe in the back somewhere. ;)

They didn't, but another Best Buy did, and when they told us the clearance price our jaws dropped. It was less brand new than you can buy it used today on ebay or amazon or anywhere else. And thanks to Dave Ramsey's teaching, Eric haggled an amazing deal...yesss! Thanks again, Dave! (Yes, you can negotiate at big box stores, don't let them tell you differently!)

Now we are the proud owners of this baby:

It's ours and paid for, and Eric is going to pick it up after work tonight. I cannot wait to start filming with it! A new chapter in our family memories will soon begin. :)

We also had to do our weekly grocery shopping trip, so off to Aldi we went....

We were cracking up at how busy it was on a Saturday night. Seriously, it's usually pretty dead, but they had three lanes open checking people out while we were there. Aldi just released a RARE coupon, so we couldn't help but think people were getting their coupon fix in. :) Eric's gonna go back every night this week to stock up on stuff, or so he says. Haha.

Sunday was amazing. We had a great morning at church! And for lunch, we went to the annual Wurstmarkt at St. Patrick's and had a delicious meal. The kiddos were chomping at the bit to get outside and play while we were there. Even with the sounds of loud guns firing at the turkey shoot in the background we enjoyed the beautiful fall day.

The rest of the day both Eric and I were at different meetings for church. I had a decorating meeting to prepare for CHRISTMAS (wow!) and later Eric went to lead The Legacy Journey - Dave Ramsey's latest study on managing money after you are debt free. Eric reports that they have a great group in that class. :)

Now it's time for Operation: Get House In Order. Yay for Monday! Hope you guys have a great week!

Man...I was wondering if I missed your camera sale. Need to get my hands on one before Ms Kinley arrives. Good thing Christmas comes 2 days before she is scheduled to!

I didn't know you were in the market! I'll let you know if we see any good deals pop up. Black Friday might be good for that.

I hope you enjoy it! I was reminding Eric that we bought that camera when we had our first baby girl to capture all the memories. It has come full circle. :) It's a great camera, and I'm glad it went to a good home!
