Weekend Wrap Up!

Hello, hello!

Well, my fellow Southern Illinoisans, that weekend weather rocked, did it not? THAT'S Fall. That's what we're talking about! We abandoned the house and got lots of playtime outside this weekend, which is why I've washed the same load of laundry…er...three times now. :) Whoopsies!

So let's see, the weekend rundown…

We had our Saturday date night on Friday instead of Saturday, and it was fun as usual! Reagan helped Eric and me pick out some things for an Operation Christmas Child shoebox…which the girls and I still need to get put together. We were told the deadline was extended by a week. Give us a reason to procrastinate, and we will, haha.

We had our night out a day early, because Eric was set to speak at a banquet on Saturday evening for an upcoming trip he's going on. I don't think we've mentioned anything about it, but Eric is traveling to Haiti very soon - exciting things are happening! I think I'll let him explain it sometime. :)

Swiped this from Facebook. :)

I don't think this will be the last time one or more of our family members will be making this trip. I don't want to jump the gun, but we have really been feeling led and the doors have opened for us to work with a very specific all-girls orphanage in Haiti…and well…yes, I'll let Eric explain it all!

The past couple of weeks Eric has been trying to get his passport updated and he's gotten lots of immunizations and things in preparation for the trip. Prayers would be very much appreciated that his paperwork will be finalized in time and for safe travels if he is meant to go.

Sunday was amazing with extra zing! We had an awesome time of fellowship in church on Sunday morning, followed by a special Thanksgiving feast to share together. (Sooo good!) And then of course, we couldn't resist the weather, so we took what might have been our very last walk of the season.

The girls were chomping at the bit to find a pile of leaves somewhere and jump in it, so that is what we did.

When you don't have a rake, ya use your feet! :)

I think it's safe to say that they enjoyed themselves.

Here's my "proof that you existed in your own life" shot. :D

And Evelyn was very excited when she found these "giant acorns!!"
I'm assuming that they really are acorns, but maybe they're not. :) At any rate, they really are giant!

Of course you will be seeing all of this and more in live action tomorrow. Ha! It's going to be time to publish our first vlog. Turns out that video editing really is a cinch, and now…I'm sorta kinda addicted to it. It's fun! I'm no expert as you will plainly see, but it's not a thing at all to put some clips together. We're really happy with the quality of the camera we purchased for the price. In fact, all of the leaf pictures here were taken with our "baby" camera - not too bad.

I hope that you'll come back tomorrow…and that you won't make fun of us, haha. :D See you then!

Haha, Cassie! Do not be alarmed if you hear strange noises coming from your back yard. :D

Eric leaves on the 21st, I believe. :)
