Weekend Wrap Up!

Happy Monday! (Is that an oxymoron?)

Well, I'm pretty happy, haha. I am so glad that we were able to share our baby news on Friday! WHEW. Only a very very few people knew our little secret for reasons I hope to share tomorrow. I hate that time of secret-keeping. I feel like a big fat liar everywhere I go. Seems like people always ramp up the questions of, "How are you doing? How are you feeling? What's new?" when I have something I can't tell. Or maybe it's just that I notice it so much more.

"Oh...I'm fine." "Nothing new...."

LIES. All lies.

My favorite is when people start making baby jokes, like, "So when are you going to have another one??" And I'm thinking, "Right now," while smiling and saying "Oh...I don't know!" And having a blog...forget about it. As you saw, I pretty much went on hiatus for the last two weeks, haha.

So yes, glad that part is over. Thank you so much for your congratulations and well-wishes! I have some seriously great friends and family. Believe it or not, I didn't get a single joke ribbing us about the amount of children we're about to have...I'm shocked! :) (And thank you. Yes...we know where babies come from, and yes, we did want four kids, haha.)

I don't remember much else from Friday, to be honest. It's all kind of a blur.

On Saturday my mom was messaging me first thing to get the kids together so we could have a picnic in the park.

It was nice to get out and enjoy the freakishly fall-like weather we've been having around here. The kids loooove the park. It's their favorite place. My mom pulled out her magic carpet bag with everything you could possibly think of for a picnic, haha. Hamburgers, hotdogs, chips, fruit, drinks...all the fixings...it just kept coming out. :D

After lunch the kids wanted to swing and spin around on the hurl-o-wheel (aka merry-go-round) for the rest of the afternoon. It was hilarious...I wish I would have gotten Reagan's face on video. He wanted to keep going faster and faster...it was so funny.

The rest of our Saturday was business as usual, and I was thankful. I look forward to Saturdays so much, even if they are nothing fancy. I am easy to please. :)

By Sunday I was exhausted, which is pretty much life right now. It was my turn to teach in Sunday School, and boy did we have a doozy of a lesson for the kiddos. I had the pleasure of teaching the story of Abraham and Isaac to four and five year olds, haha. And if you're not familiar, God tested Abraham by asking him to sacrifice his only son.... Thankfully it was just a test, but what a lesson for preschool. We muddled through it. No one was traumatized. :D

After lunch we came home and I took a long nap. Unfortunately, my house didn't clean itself in my sleep. I cannot wait to get my energy back. Baby building is serious business, apparently. I've never been this tired, and if I didn't know better I'd think I was growing triplets in there or something. The second trimester cannot get here fast enough!

Thankfully I've still been able to take walks, and that's how we ended our weekend. Sure I'm doubled-over and feeling like I could croak by the end of it, but it hasn't stopped me yet.

And that's it! I know that it's riveting stuff. But that's life as we know it.

I hope that you have a great week, and I'm going to try my best to share the last month or so tomorrow! Later taters.

Now I know where you get your amazingly fun mothering...your own mom.

If you need help with anything, let me know. I am all for getting out some aggression while cleaning!
