From the Bunker

It's day 5376 inside the bunker.

I know how many days I've been here, but I couldn't tell you what day of the week it is.

I keep trying to develop an exit plan to explore the outside world, and then I remember I'm stuck here. Babies. Too many babies.

Someone has to keep the babies alive.

Food is plentiful, but the rice krispy treats are going fast. I fear those rations will run out soon.

Heaven forbid we use the last roll of toilet paper.

I think we're going to make it through this thing, but just barely.

If you don't hear from us in a month, send reinforcements....

So I truly have lost track of the days. Our schedule has been all kinds of mixed up lately! Eric took last Friday off out of sheer exhaustion, and I've been calendar confused ever since, haha. We took my sister to the airport on Friday and said goodbye for I don't know how long.... Maybe the hardest part of saying goodbye is not knowing when we'll get to say hello again.

Before she left we celebrated Eric's birthday....

....and we had a movie night with her at my parent's house....

My mom tried to stuff us silly this night. First there was soup and cornbread...followed soon by drinks and nachos...then the candy course...then in case we were hungry, it was time for popcorn. The movie theater has nothing on the snacks served up at the Feldt Family Cinema.

The girls ended up staying for their first sleepover of the summer. It was a good night!

We have been keeping busy for the past few days gearing up for a certain almost six year old's birthday party. All projects are still very much in progress!

We're praying that the weather holds out for her party this weekend. It's supposed to start storming from Friday until eternity. We've had more than our share of clouds and rain this summer. When a sunny day feels like a miracle in June, that's a problem. :)

The girls have started up swimming lessons for the summer and have stayed plenty busy going here there and everywhere with their grandparents! They have definitely been having fun.

Meanwhile, Eric is still gone...a lot. It's been hard. Really really hard. I haven't felt like blogging much lately. I told Eric that the closest thing to an outing I have had this summer is church and Walmart. The sad thing is, it's true! We need family time in a really bad way. I am not cut out for this traveling corporate lifestyle, at all. Neither is Eric, haha. He is just as sick of it as I am. We will welcome him home late tonight after another stint away. It isn't over yet, but I think we're getting close. And I'll be sharing a little more about it tomorrow. :)

For now I'm holding down this bunker and living my summer through everyone else. The internet is my set of binoculars to the world. Hope YOU are having a good one! Later taters!

I'm sending you my phone number. You call me anytime you need some grown up talk. Kinley and I are ALWAYS looking for something fun to do! And my mom lives right down from you so we are your way a lot! I would love a handful of baby :)

Sounds good to me! :)

Oh my goodness, I've had a few nights with Tyler gone but four kids and constantly gone, I would go bonkers! And seriously, getting out of the house alone with all the kids is exhausting and sometimes impossible. Praying you get some good relaxing family time soon!

Oh definitely - it's a question of HOW do I want to lose my sanity. By staying home another day or trying to take them all into public. A lose/lose. :D
