WHERE IN THE WORLD IS (pause) Eric Robert?

***

Yes, we haven't been able to nail this boy down for long very much over the past month. He's been back and forth to New York, leaving us sometimes at a moments notice. And in his words, "I'm so sick of this city." Haha. Sorry, New York. Nothing personal. Although it was decided staying off of Times Square makes for a much more enjoyable visit...something he discovered on his most recent trip.

The first two times he came home bearing armloads of gifts for the kids and me from the Disney store. I swear he spent so much of his free time in that darn Disney store. :) Then when he realized he would continue to go back constantly it was decided that it was turning into a very expensive habit!

The reason for his trips has been officially made public as of Monday, but he still asked that I not talk about it much. Even I was not allowed to know all of the details until a few days ago. Some really amazing things for his career, but as you know, it certainly doesn't come without sacrifices....

It was the day of Eric's graduation. We were sitting down with our food at the robing ceremony when Eric looks at his phone and with a surprised expression he said, "Well. Looks like I'm going to New York on Monday!" He didn't know the extent of it at that point, but it took an already busy and hectic time in our life and made it even more crazy. What made the whole thing even harder for me was that I was not allowed to tell ANYONE that he was gone. Over time I was at least able to allude to the fact that he wasn't here, but I still couldn't divulge where he was going. It has been a lonely month, that's for sure. A long and lonely month.

Although his work in New York seems to be indefinite, the trips will become less frequent. Now that the news has been made public there is less secrecy and constant traveling back and forth that needs to be done. We are just HAPPY to have him home for now!! The kids pounced on him when he walked in the door late last night. :)

"Being home is better than staying at the Waldorf Astoria." :)

Thank you for your patience with me and for those who have encouraged me over the past couple of weeks. It has meant A LOT. Even though some of you didn't know what was going on, you were still there to lift me up!

We are still waiting for life to get back to normal...not quite sure what that looks like anymore! I think we have some lost time to make up for. Perhaps we'll get to it this weekend if the weather cooperates. (Please, oh please.)

Hope you are having a great week. Ours just got better! ;)
