Happy 5, Gracie Girl!!

Life crept up on us again and said, "Surprise! Here's one more thing you're not ready for yet!"

My second child is five years old today. Not my first second child. And that just blows my mind.

Happy Birthday, Grace!

Over the past year Eric and I have marveled at how much she has grown and changed. Gracie was literally the hardest toddler that I have ever had to take care of. We were honestly afraid to leave the house with her most days, because her tantrums were of epic proportions and could be set off by the most random things. Then her speech finally caught up with her will, and that made a WORLD of difference. Grace is now one of my easiest kids, carefree and helpful around the house. She is funny and independent - still strong-willed for sure, but it's channeled in other ways most of the time.

Gracie loves school and from what I hear is just a little angel there - thank goodness! She knows just when and how to assert that will of hers...and when to keep it quiet. She's strategic. ;)

It's kind of a bummer when your birthday falls on a Monday, but since Grace does love school she's not the least bit upset. She gets to bring a special snack, after all. Unfortunately, Eric leaves for New York this afternoon, so we celebrated Grace this morning with a present and some time with daddy before he leaves. Tonight she will get to pick whatever dinner she would like. I have a pretty good feeling that I'm going to be finding myself in the McDonald's drive through, haha. And then next weekend we will have her combined birthday party with Reagan (and don't even get me started on Reagan's age!)

Gracie walked into the kitchen this morning and said, "I just can't wipe this smile off my face!"

ALL of the kids were excited for her gift, and they've been playing it all morning. :)

Our kids love Disney Infinity, and since the 3.0 version just came out, well...that means we were finally ready to upgrade to 2.0. Haha!

I am so in love with this kid. I am so proud of who she has become and how far she has come in just a few short years. And we are looking forward to a great year with this five year old!

Gracie's favorites!

Color: Pink and Blue
Food: french fries
Toys: Barbie camper
Animal: elephant
Place: Disney World
Best Friend: Angela
Wants to be: An artist

Grace thinks the best thing about being 5 is: Being a good girl. :)

Happy Birthday, Gracie!! We love you so much and can't wait to celebrate next weekend!!
